Something About Me

Sometimes you’re faced with hard decisions about what you want to do in life. I consider myself an animator and writer, and I’m going to stick with that. That’s my identity.
Have you ever told someone what you want to do and they always tell you: “but that’s so hard”, “it’s too difficult to learn”? Of course it is. Every job you start is hard, every skill you haven’t used is new.
I think the few people that know me well enough, know that I do not believe in “talent”. “Talent” for me is a word that simplifies all the hard work, practice, effort, and dedication someone has done into a meaningless, throw-away-phrase.
I have no talent for languages, I have to put in a lot of effort and try to practice as much as I can.
What I believe is that anyone can learn any skill, through study and practice. Of course you have to read up on how to do it, of course you have to practice it till you get it right.
Or do you tell your children, after they’ve fallen on their face from trying to walk, “don’t do it, it’s too hard”?
People that know me, know that my life has had ups and downs. Sometimes even very high falls. But I claw my way back up. I don’t believe in limiting myself.
